Bloom Where You Are Planted

Let’s set the scene, shall we? We zoom in to a young, ambitious, twenty-something with stars in her eyes and great hope for her future — but slowly, as we zoom out, we see her empty expression and see that she is confined in a small, dark cubicle. Wasting away on spreadsheet after spreadsheet. Desperate for something that gave her life, something that utilized her gifts and creativity. She sat there, day after day, wishing away her current reality and ready to move on to bigger, better things.

There I stood, almost a year ago now, staring out at the pacific ocean and crying out to God, “Lord, just show me the way. Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” It was like I was standing at a crossroads, wondering which direction to take. I didn’t know what the right decision was. I didn’t know which path to go down. When It's Time to Let Go

It feels like a lifetime ago, like a completely different person. But there I was… only 21, with stars in my eyes and big dreams of taking the acting world by storm. I had worked hard and saved hard, and moved all the way across the country from Orlando to Los Angeles with my Husband, Ryan. He was always so supportive and really believed in me. We both craved adventure and were excited to start our new life in California. So off we went in our little Toyota Corolla on our three day journey to SoCal.

On Screaming Babies and Overcoming Mom Guilt

I remember the day like it was yesterday. I sat bawling my eyes out on the kitchen floor feeling like a complete failure after yet another unsuccessful nursing session with my second born daughter, Cora. She was four and a half months old, an age I had been anticipating, an age the doctor said her digestive system would begin to mature and she would not scream from stomach discomfort.

My Favorites in Health & Wellness

So, I wanted to compile a little list of my favorite health & wellness products. We’ve slowly built our little arsenal to help prevent sickness & keep our family healthy. Between church, MOPS, and the gym – my girls are constantly exposed to germs. Yes, they still get sick sometimes. It’s the worst. But, it happens. However, they rarely have to go to the doctor and they usually fight it off pretty quickly.
