In case you haven't heard...

Ryan and I are expecting our first child! We are so excited to start a family and can’t wait to meet our little peanut!

I’ve been dealing with a pretty strong bout of nausea & fatigue, which is why there hasn’t been much lately on the blog front. But I will try to post as much as possible to keep my little blog going.  :)

Love,

Monika

California Roadtrip: Part 3

The final leg of our road trip had us driving through Carmel, Big Sur, and San Luis Obispo.

Carmel was such a lovely quaint town. We only had time to stop there briefly for some coffee & window shopping, but I’m glad we got to see it. Would be a great spot to return to for a romantic weekend getaway.

The scenery in Big Sur is some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Pictures cannot capture how stunning it is. The winding roads may have made me slightly nauseous, but it was oh-so worth it.

After that we finally made it to San Luis Obispo, where we stayed a night with some good friends of the Kelsos. We enjoying a delicious, hearty italian meal in town and ended the night watching Gone With The Wind (though we didn’t quite finish it as we all ended up crashing early).

Ryan and I were so blessed to get to go on this little adventure. We’re so in love with this gorgeous state and enjoy getting to see all that it has to offer. ♥

California Road Trip: Part 2

Oh, San Francisco. How I love thee. What a beautiful city. This was my first trip there and I am already eager to go back. We first arrived to the city and went to a local farmers market (where I had the best apple I’ve ever eaten in my life). Then we made our way to Pier 39 where we had clam chowder bread bowls for lunch (you just have to), and enjoyed watching the sea lions play. Then we drove around and explored a little bit, taking in views of the golden gate bridge and driving through nob hill, until we finally ventured into a little coffee shop for a break. After all that the sun was going down and we went up to twin peaks to take in the views. This was by far my favorite part. The views of the city, mountains, and ocean were incredible – and the setting sun was the icing on the cake.

Next we headed to the mission district to have dinner with friends, and then headed back to the hotel. But the night didn’t end there as we got a call from an old friend that we could come to his work and go indoor skydiving (which is a blast). By the end of the day we were exhausted but it was all so worth it.

See you next time, San Francisco.

This past December Ryan and I were lucky enough to go on a little adventure with our dear friends, The Kelso Family. We went on a road trip up to Lake Tahoe, where we stayed a few days. Then we headed west to San Francisco, where we spent a day exploring the city (which I am now in love with). After that we slowly made our way down the coast, stopping in Carmel, Big Sur, and San Luis Obispo.

We had an amazing trip and were so blessed to get to travel and see more of this incredibly beautiful state. I’m going to share our journey in three parts, this first part being some photos from Lake Tahoe. Stay tuned for parts 2 & 3!

San Diego!

Last weekend Ryan and I went on a last minute trip to San Diego. We were blessed with three free nights at a beautiful resort in Carlsbad.  I’ve been wanting to take a trip to San Diego for a while now, so I was super excited for the opportunity. We ventured to downtown San Diego where we had lunch and shopped around the Gaslamp Quarter for a while. Nice little area with lots of fun stores. And I found two cute dresses for less than $20 each so I’d consider that a win.  ;)

Then we headed over to Old Town San Diego, where we walked around the market, sipped on some lemonade, and relaxed in the open park area. Was a beautiful day for exploring…

Loved our little weekend adventure. It helped to satiate my ever-present need to travel. Well, at least for the time being.
